Testing of GAZ e-bus made by GAZ Group Likino Bus Plant started on the streets of Moscow. The e-bus was given to Mosgortrans at the ExpoCityTrans exhibition in the end of 2016 in Moscow. The agreement of e-bus pilot operation was signed by Vadim Sorokin, the CEO of GAZ Group, and Evgeny Mikhaylov, the CEO of MGT.

The pilot operation will last for six months. Within this period the e-bus will be undergo route testing, upon the results of which GAZ Group and MGT specialists will assess its operation in different weather conditions. The e-bus will run the route Fili-Kitay Gorod Underground Station.

The e-bus is developed on the basis of the model with the good feedback from operation on the Russian roads - LiAZ-5292 large low-floor bus. It allows for achievement of the maximal efficiency for the carrier in terms of the operation and maintenance costs.

The e-bus has a all-metal cab-over unibody with improved corrosion resistance because of e-coating priming technology. The model is designed to transport up to 90 passengers including 27 seats, three seats for limited-mobility passengers.

The e-bus complies with the Zero Emission environmental standard, which means no hazardous emissions into the environment. The e-bus is outfitted with lithium-manganese batteries with high output ratio and increased life-cycle of up to 5,000 charging cycles, which allows for a daily mileage of up to 200 km in case of application of module-type charging. This solution provides for a long-term overnight charging and two-three short chargings within 20-30 minutes at the endpoints of the route.
