Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline, has today (18th January 2017) announced the continuation of its service from Cardiff to London City as part of its extensive Summer '17 schedule that starts on 26th March 2017. Tickets are available for booking now at www.flybe.com, with one way fares from £34.99 including taxes and charges.

With up to two flights a day, operating seven days a week, and with an average flight time of just an hour, customers are increasingly taking advantage of this fast, convenient travel option to the heart of London.

What the Welsh business community is saying:
Simon McCann, Partner at Blake Morgan LLP: 'I have found the service to be efficient, dependable and good value for money. Particularly useful is the accessibility of Central London from City Airport via DLR. It is very quick to get out of the airport and into Central London and was quicker and less hassle than my usual journey from Paddington.'

Chad Griffiths, Business Development Manager in the Financial Services sector: 'I find the service a quick, convenient and inexpensive way to travel to London for client meetings, particularly when I need to travel at peak times, with excellent onward access to the City and Canary Wharf from London City Airport. I have also used the service to connect to the fast train service at Stratford International for onward travel down into Kent.'

Polly James, Breakfast DJ at Capital South Wales: 'This service is easy, fuss-free and fast. It only took me 90 minutes to get from my house to London's 02 Arena for a recent event. On a normal Friday, travelling by car, the trip usually takes a whole day.'

Jeremy Thomas, Director of KPMG LLP: 'This route has proved very useful for colleagues travelling back and forth to our head office location in Canary Wharf, as well as providing a hop onto further locations on from London City. It provides a much-needed additional travel option, which was long overdue for the Welsh Capital, it is essential that the Cardiff business community has this additional connectivity option to the East side of London and vice versa in attracting further business visitors to Cardiff. '

Vincent Hodder, Flybe's Chief Revenue Officer comments: 'It is good news for the route that is receiving such positive support from the business community. Flybe prides itself on providing unrivalled regional connectivity and, as champions of regional air travel, it is heartening to see that this route is doing just that for Cardiff. We look forward to seeing demand continuing to grow, to allow it to become a firmly established route on our Cardiff schedule.'

Debra Barber, MD and COO of Cardiff Airport, adds: 'This important service has already seen many Welsh business professionals making the journey to London for the day - it's proving to be a real time saver and an exciting prospect for companies who want to do business in Wales.

'A city service is an important link between both Capitals, but it will only continue for as long as our customers support and utilise the route - so I'd encourage everyone to try the service.'
