Throughout 2012, Fiat Group's sales results in Europe (EU27+EFTA) were affected by the negative demand trend in Italy. Full-year sales totaled just under 800,000 units and the Group's market share was 6.4%. With a combined 28.1% share of the A segment, the Fiat Panda and 500 made a strong contribution to that result. Fiat brand posted sales increases in the UK (+19.3%) and Spain (+1%). Lancia/Chrysler nearly doubled sales in the UK (+182%) and also achieved significant increases in France (+25.6%) and Germany (+3.8%). Jeep also recorded a very positive year with sales volumes up 19% over 2011.


The European auto market (EU27+EFTA) closed 2012 with registrations down 7.8% over the prior year to just under 12,528,000 units. Fiat Group sales, which were significantly affected by negative market conditions in Italy, totaled just under 800,000 units for the year, representing a 6.4% share of the European market. In December, the Group sold nearly 51,000 vehicles with market share at 6%.
Of note was the result in the UK, where Fiat Group sold more than 65,000 vehicles (up
10.9% over 2011 compared to 5.3% for the overall market) and increased share 0.2 percentage points to 3.2%.

Fiat brand sold nearly 582,000 vehicles for the full year, accounting for a 4.6% share of the market. For the month of December, sales exceeded 37,000 vehicles and market share was in line with the same month a year ago at 4.4%.

The brand recorded strong growth in the UK, where sales were up 19.3% for the year
(over 51,000 vehicles sold) and 48.2% for the month of December (nearly 3,400 vehicles sold). Results were also positive in Spain, where the brand achieved a 1%
year-over-year sales increase.
The brand's top selling models posted another positive year. Just four months after being launched, the 500L closed 2012 already positioned firmly among the leaders in its segment. The Fiat Panda continued as the best selling car in the European A segment with 186,000 units sold for the year and a 15.7% segment share. Positive performance also for the 500, with sales totaling more than 146,000 units and segment share at 12.4%. The Punto remained firmly among the top 10 B-segment models, with more than 134,000 units sold, and the Freemont was one of leaders in its segment with a 5.9% share. The Qubo and Doblò retained their leading positions in the multispace segment, with a combined 12% share.

Lancia/Chrysler posted 2012 sales of nearly 94,000 vehicles, achieving a 0.7% share of the market. December sales were just under 5,600 units with share also at 0.7% for the month.

Full-year sales results were positive in Germany, where the brand recorded a 3.8%
year-over-year increase (compared to a 2.9% decline for the market) and France,
where the brand's sales were up 25.6% (-13.9% for the market). In the UK, the

Lancia/Chrysler brand registered a 182% year-over-year sales increase, compared to just 5.3% for the market overall.

Alfa Romeo closed the year with sales totaling 90,000 vehicles and European market share at 0.7%. In December, the brand sold nearly 5,200 units, accounting for a 0.6% share of the market.

The Jeep brand significantly outperformed the market, with full-year 2012 sales up

19% to more than 28,000 units and December sales up 11.4% over the same month a year ago to almost 2,400 units.
Sales increases were registered in several European markets, with particularly notable results in Germany (+65%), France (+22.4%) and the UK (+7.5%).
For Ferrari and Maserati, the Group's luxury and performance brands, full-year sales totaled nearly 4,000 units.
