Amendments to the 2020 investment program of FGC UES approved

The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation adopted the amendments to the investment program of FGC UES for 2016-2020. The document considers the results of public debate and interaction with the expert community. The volume of program investment is 482.28 bn rubles.

During the following five years, it is planned to add 44,711 MVA of transformer capacity and 11,412 km of transmission lines to the permanent assets. The main sources of financing are the company's own funds received from tariffs and utility connection payments.

Program priorities are to maintain reliable operation of the Unified National Power Grid, regular and high quality power supply and the development of networks.

The largest projects to implement before 2020 are strengthening and development of power systems integration, including UES of Northwest and Centre, organizing external power supply to the Baikal-Amur Mainline, Trans-Siberian railway, oil and gas pipelines in Siberia and in the Russian Far East, as well as connecting major mining and processing enterprises to the network and construction of power distribution facilities.

FGC UES is among the world's largest public electric grid companies in terms of the length of high-voltage trunk lines and transformer capacity. It serves 140,000 of HVL and 933 substations with transformer capacity of 334,500 MVA.

FGC UES ensures reliable energy supply to consumers in 77 regions of Russia, occupying 15.1 million sq km. It is a member of PJSC Rosseti, Russia's largest energy holding that owns 80.13% of the company's shares. As of 2016, the number of employees of FGC UES was 22,000 people, more than 60% of who have higher professional education. Chairman of the Management Board is Andrey Murov.
