02/01/2012 FAIVELEY TRANSPORT WINS ITS THIRD MAJOR CONTRACT TO SUPPLY THE ICX TRAINS IN GERMANY WITH AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS

After winning two major contracts to supply the braking systems and the doors, Siemens and Bombardier have awarded Faiveley Transport with a third contract to supply air conditioning units for the ICx trains for the Deutsche Bahn.

Faiveley Transport will supply driver cab and saloon units for 130 trains, with options for 90 and 80 additional trains. Delivery of the first prototype will begin in 2014 and serial production will take place between 2015-2023.

"We worked very closely with both Siemens and the Deutsche Bahn to define a very precise technical response to the job specification" said Olivier Ravit, Energy & Comfort Director. "This collaboration will continue throughout the development process to guarantee complete customer satisfaction when the units are delivered.

"It is extremely important for Faiveley Transport to be part of the ICx project, which will be the spine of intercity traffic in Germany over the next 40 years," said Thierry Barel, Chairman and CEO. "The three orders confirm Faiveley Transport's strategy and long term commitment to develop a strong presence in Germany, one of our key markets."

These first orders to supply brakes, doors and air conditioning systems for 130 trains account for a total of more than €210 Million.
