With SpagoBI, Engineering Group's open source offering enters the Ubuntu Cloud ecosyste

Engineering Group announced today its partnership with Canonical - the UK-based company that develops and supports Ubuntu - one of the most adopted open source Linux distributions. The partnership is aimed at delivering added-value Business Intelligence and Big Data solutions based on the open source SpagoBI suite on an Ubuntu Cloud environment.

Engineering Group joined Canonical's Charm Partner Programme, and made SpagoBI available on Juju (https://jujucharms.com/) - Canonical's service modeling tool that enables the instant deployment, integration and scaling of distributed applications on public and private clouds.

Characterized by usability, security and scalability, it allows users to freely build their SpagoBI installation and analyze their data through a full set of features and capabilities, ranging from traditional ones (such as reports, charts, dashboards) to advanced ones (such as maps, data mining, what-if analytics, social listening), supported by a wide range of customer services provided by Engineering Group's SpagoBI Labs.

'We are very excited about joining Canonical's Charm Partner Programme, which gives added value to SpagoBI's comprehensive offering' says Grazia Cazzin, SpagoBI Labs Director at Engineering Group. 'We are proud at this partnership involving two key players in the open source domain, and at supporting Juju - an innovative and powerful tool gathering several leading companies in a vibrant ecosystem.'

Samuel Cozannet, who leads Big Data business development at Canonical, says 'SpagoBI is the reference open source solution for Big Data and Business Analytics. Over time, Engineering Group has extended the very meaning of BI to add the goodness of Big Data analytics into its core offering. They join the Charm Partner Programme today to offer end-to-end vertical solutions modelled with Juju and ready to use on every public and private cloud. We are looking forward to adding these to our portfolio and offer more analytics options for users of Juju and Ubuntu.'

Engineering Group and Canonical will present this solution at the Strata+Hadoop World that is taking place in New York, NY, USA from September 29th to October 1st, 2015.
