28 of CVM Instruction 308 of May 14, 1999, wishes to inform its shareholders and the market at large that on November 22, the five wind farm projects under development in the states of Ceará and Piauí were registered by the United Nations Organization within the scope of the Clean Development Mechanism.
The registration is recognition of the contribution the Company's investments make to clean and sustainable development, qualifying the plants during their useful lives for the generation of carbon credits. The Trairi, Fleixeiras, Guajirú, Mundaú and Porto do Delta plants have a total installed capacity of 145.5 MW and the potential to generate clean energy for approximately 320 thousand Brazilian households. This renewable energy permits the substitution of the equivalent in thermoelectric generation using fossil fuels, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 230,000 tons of CO2 annually.
