ENGIE Brasil Energia's (EGIE3) shares have been included once more in B3 - Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão S.A.'s Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE). This is the 18th consecutive year that the Company has been listed in the Index, an aspect which it shares with just five other companies. With a 2.3% weighting in the portfolio, EBE was placed 10th in the general position out of 70 components and the best in the Index for a company in the electricity sector.

The ISE is made up of shares of companies listed on the B3 with operations based on the commitment to sustainability. This serves as an indicator to shareholders for decision making bearing in mind that ESG practices are fundamental to the longevity of businesses. To be included in the ranking, considered as one of the most important in the market, compliance is required with a series of financial criteria as well as aspects related to environmental equilibrium, social justice, and corporate governance.

"To be incorporated in the ISE always sends an important indication that our commitment to sustainable development is on the right track, a great source of pride and one certainly shared with the approximately 1,200 members of our workforce. All of us are aware of the challenges which our chosen path forward brings with it: to make ENGIE Brasil Energia a company which is increasingly more sustainable, expanding its presence in renewables and in transmission, working efficiently and with attention to people and in parallel with the tendencies of the energy transition. We pursue our trajectory of sustainability alert to all its aspects and with a view to creating value for all our stakeholders", Eduardo Sattamini, the Company's Chief Executive and Investor Relations Officer points out.

ENGIE Brasil Energia has clear and well-defined targets aligned with the assumptions of the United Nations Organization's (UNO) 2030 Agenda's goals. Every year, the Company publishes its Sustainability Report as a means of sharing with society information on its business model, governance structure and corporate policies. Internally, one of the principal tools which underly the Company's purposes are the Group's non-financial goals, these providing for initiatives directed towards, in particular, the generation of renewable energy, the promotion of gender equality and the combat of climate change.

B3's Carbon Efficient Index (ICO2)

ENGIE Brasil Energia was also selected as a component of B3's new Carbon Efficient Index (CO2) portfolio for the third year. The index has the aim of being an instrument for fostering discussion on climate change in Brazil.

Companies included in CO2 are participants in IBrX 100 and reflect their commitment to the environment and transparency in emissions as well as anticipating their vision on how they are preparing for a low carbon economy. Created in 2010, ICO2 B3 is designed to be a vehicle for stimulating discussion on climate change in Brazil. "In 2023, we expect to reach an important stage in our low carbon trajectory, becoming a 100% generator of renewables. To be included in ICO2 sends a signal that our work and transparency in this direction is on the right track. We shall continue with the commitment of involving suppliers and society as a whole on this journey", Sattamini concludes.

In September 2022, with the signature of the Pampa Sul Thermoelectric Plant agreement, the Company took an important step towards exiting coal-fired operations in Brazil. Once the transaction is finalized, expected for the first half of 2023, ENGIE will guarantee a generator park which is 100% renewable country-wide thereby playing an important role in the Group's global strategy.

Since the decision was taken to decarbonize its portfolio of assets in Brazil in 2016, the Company has already directed R$ 21 billion in investments for expanding diversified sources of clean energy and transmission infrastructure.
