Emami Limited reported unaudited consolidated and standalone earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2013. For the quarter, on consolidated basis, the company reported net sales/income from operations (net of excise duty) of INR 5,846.7 million against INR 5,484.4 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance cost and exceptional items was INR 1,706.3 million against INR 1,314.5 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 1,810.7 million against INR 1,386.7 million a year ago. Net profit for the period was INR 1,506.8 million or INR 6.64 per basic and diluted share against net profit for the period of INR 1,149.3 million or INR 5.06 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
For the nine months, on consolidated basis, the company reported net sales/income from operations (net of excise duty) of INR 13,750.6 million against INR 12,479.3 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance cost and exceptional items was INR 3,056.3 million against INR 2,312.5 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 3,495.4 million against INR 2,566.6 million a year ago. Net profit for the period was INR 2,913.0 million or INR 12.84 per basic and diluted share against net profit for the period of INR 2,207.2 million or INR 9.73 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
For the quarter, on standalone basis, the company reported net sales/income from operations (net of excise duty) of INR 5,500.2 million against INR 5,291.2 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance cost and exceptional items was INR 1,602.8 million against INR 1,385.7 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 1,713.0 million against INR 1,462.4 million a year ago. Net profit for the period was INR 1,410.9 million or INR 6.22 per basic and diluted share against net profit for the period of INR 1,228.9 million or INR 5.41 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
For the nine months, on standalone basis, the company reported net sales/income (net of excise duty) from operations of INR 12,949.1 million against INR 12,037.5 million a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance cost and exceptional items was INR 2,953.4 million against INR 2,410.6 million a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 3,405.5 million against INR 2,677.9 million a year ago. Net profit for the period was INR 2,830.4 million or INR 12.47 per basic and diluted share against net profit for the period of INR 2,326.3 million or INR 10.25 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
