Electrolux announces that it has set itself a new target to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from its products and activities in support of the Paris climate agreement, after achieving its previous target three years ahead of plan.

The new target, approved at the end of 2023 by the Science Based Targets initiative, aims to reduce direct and indirect emissions resulting from its own activities (scope 1 and 2) by 85% and absolute scope 3 emissions by 42% between 2021 and 2030.

With the new scope 1 and 2 targets, the Swedish appliance manufacturer estimates that it will achieve a 97% reduction in emissions from its operations by 2030 compared to 2015, 'despite the difficult global economic outlook'.
