EFG has appointed Timothy Lo as north Asia vice chairman and hired 11 new client relationships officers in Hong Kong and Singapore. Lo joins from Credit Agricole Indosuez, Hong Kong, where he had been deputy CEO and commercial head for north Asia since 2017. Prior to that, he was managing director and head of north Asia for CIC Investor Services. In his new role at EFG, he reports to Albert Chiu, executive chairman of EFG Bank, Asia Pacific. Lo will also work closely with Kees Stoute, north Asia CEO, and Richard Strauss, north Asia head of private banking, EFG Hong Kong branch. Additionally, EFG has hired eight new CROs in Hong Kong, including Michelle Wu, team head and managing director. Wu also joins from Credit Agricole Indosuez where she was private banking team head. In her new role, Wu will report to Strauss, and be supported by managing director Ben Chu and directors Ashis Sengupta and Ernest Cheung. In Singapore, EFG has hired three CROs, including Nobuhiro Sano who has come on board as managing director. Sano joins from Nomura Group, where he held various management positions since 2001 including head of wealth management and head of China business strategy.
