Axium Infrastructure inc. entered into agreement to acquire 80% stake 499MW Portfolio of Onshore Wind Assets of EDP Renováveis, S.A. (ENXTLS:ED) in US and Canada for an enterprise value of $860 million on December 31, 2018 The winds farms include Meadow Lake VI of 200MW in Indiana, United States, Prairie Queen of 199MW, in Kansas, United States and Nation Rise of 100MW in Ontario, Canada. This sell down strategy will allow EDP to reinvest the proceeds IN accretive growth. Krista Hill, Konata Lake, Marshall Rossiter, Vlad Krasner, Richard Johnson, Tyson Dyck, Jonathan Myers and Henry Ren of Torys LLP acted as Canadian legal counsel to EDP Renováveis in the transaction. As of December 31, 2018, EDP Renováveis sold 80% stake in both Meadow Lake VI of 200MW in Indiana and Prairie Queen of 199MW, in Kansas and 75% of Nation Rise of 100MW in Ontario. The acquisition of remaining 5% stake in Nation Rise of 100MW in Ontario is expected to close once the project reaches commercial operation, which expected to occur during the fourth quarter of 2019.
