BIETIGHEIM-BISSINGEN (dpa-AFX) - The mechanical engineering company Dürr intends to examine strategic options for its environmental technology business. Among other things, this could also mean the sale of exhaust air purification technology and sound insulation systems, the company announced on Tuesday in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Baden-Württemberg. The two business areas belonging to the Clean Technology Systems (CTS) division generated sales of around 430 million euros in 2023.

In addition, painting and final assembly technology as well as painting robots are to be bundled under the new Automotive division. The Executive Board said that this would further strengthen the company's competitiveness and system expertise. The activities, which most recently generated sales of around two billion euros, will be managed under the umbrella of the new division from the beginning of 2025.

The battery production technology business, which is currently part of the CTS division, is to become part of the Industrial Automation Systems division in future. The division will be renamed Industrial Automation, Dürr also announced. The Board of Management confirmed the targets for the current year and the medium-term targets./mne/jha/
