Dole plc reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2023. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was USD 2,141.17 million compared to USD 2,050.91 million a year ago. Net income was USD 42.28 million compared to USD 41.27 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.57 compared to USD 0.55 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.56 compared to USD 0.55 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was USD 0.45 compared to USD 0.43 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was USD 0.44 compared to USD 0.43 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was USD 4,130.34 million compared to USD 4,021.14 million a year ago. Net income was USD 56.43 million compared to USD 39.88 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.86 compared to USD 0.8 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.86 compared to USD 0.8 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was USD 0.59 compared to USD 0.42 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was USD 0.59 compared to USD 0.42 a year ago.
Dole PLC is engaged in the sourcing, processing, distributing and marketing of fresh fruit and vegetables. The Companyâs segments include Fresh Fruit, Diversified Fresh Produce-EMEA and Diversified Fresh Produce-Americas & ROW. The Fresh Fruit segment sells bananas and pineapples, which are sourced from local growers or Company-owned and leased farms, predominately located in Latin America, and sold throughout North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. The Diversified Fresh Produce-EMEA segment sells a variety of imported and local fresh fruits and vegetables through retail, wholesale and, in some instances, food service channels across the European marketplace. The Diversified Fresh Produce-Americas & ROW segment includes its United States, Canadian, Chilean, Peruvian, Argentinian and Indian businesses, all of which market globally and locally sourced fresh produce from third-party growers or Company-owned farms through retail, wholesale and food service channels globally.
