Taking strategic steps to establish a foothold in the high-growth Indian market
Tokyo, Japan-The DIC Group announced today that it will participate in PLASTINDIA 2015, which is expected to be the largest global plastics industry exhibition ever held in India, and will take place from February 5-10, 2015, in the northwestern city of Gandhinagar.
India's gross domestic product (GDP) has approximately doubled in the past decade and is forecasted to expand another 1.5 times over the next five years. Bolstered by market growth and rising local demand, PLASTINDIA-which was inaugurated in 1990 and held once every three years-is currently ranked together with events in Europe and the People's Republic of China (PRC) as one of the world's three leading plastics-related trade shows.
The theme of the DIC Group's PLASTINDIA 2015 booth, which will target customers in the automotive industry, will be environment-friendly products, which are attracting increasing attention in the Indian market. The booth will showcase DIC Group products that help to reduce vehicle weight, notably its global market-leading polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) compounds, and will also include exhibits demonstrating actual product applications.
The DIC Group has positioned India as a crucial strategic market over the medium to long term. Accordingly, the Group is actively advancing its marketing and market development efforts with the aim of accelerating the expansion of its local market presence.
