OVERVIEW

DeepMaer is building and commercialising the most powerful cloud based plaorm enabling sciensts to capture chemical reacon data, easily perform and opmise laboratory experiments, reacons, and analyse scienfic outcomes using machine learning. This will allow the greater use of arficial intelligence, to a stage where chemicals can be autonomously synthesised with robocs.

At the heart of this strategy is a unique perspecve and approach to collecng data. DeepMaer has developed data rich technologies used by today's expert users, early adopters and futurists. This includes bringing together cloud-based soſtware, with rounely used laboratory hardware and unique sensor feeds that collect unique data throughout the me-course of a chemical reacon. This novel data collected in a clean and structured manner means that machine learning analysis can be applied with confidence to enable aconable knowledge - thereby increasing producvity, discovery and compliance gains.

Being cloud-based, our plaorms enable chemists to work together effecvely; sharing the details of their experiments from anywhere and in real-me, so that work is not needlessly duplicated, me and money wasted, and ulmately so new discoveries may be made faster and more safely.

DeepMatter Group Plc Annual Report 2021

CHAIR'S STATEMENT

I am satisfied with the progress DeepMatter has made in 2021. We made good inroads, signing up a number of important new customers, hiring key opinion leaders into the Group, and progressing our SmartChemistry™ platform. Overall revenue progress was behind the Board's initial expectations in 2021, but the progress made in the second half of 2021 in signing new partnerships provides a solid base for 2022.

The pharmaceucal and chemistry industries are focused on delivering world class products through substanal discovery and development programmes. This now rounely includes the extracon and use of vast amounts of data from laboratory experiments and instruments which requires a move towards automated data capture and integrity, analysis and reporng, which is accessible by machine learning.

DeepMaer's technology plaorm is being increasingly recognised in the market as a means to enable this move. The SmartChemistry™ plaorm enables the vast amounts of proprietary data to be combined with proprietary algorithms. Our investment in our technology over the last few years, which connues at pace ensures a great user experience and a product with sustainable compeve advantage, providing unique insights and producvity gain.

Much of our effort in 2021 was as a direct result of feedback from customers, telling us what maers to them. We ended the year with a plaorm that addresses an increasing market need and which has been enhanced by the guiding feedback of industry users.

Science is at the core of everything we do. Our team and advisors are comprised of high-quality science and technologists that shape and implement our vision. We connue to seek to secure the best talent in our sector and are focused in combining scienfic excellence with a unwavering commercial outlook.

We are aware that our people are our most valuable asset. As we have moved through the phases of the Covid-19 pandemic, our team has shown parcular resilience. From enforced remote working in early 2021, the opportunity to now adopt hybrid working has been embraced reinvigorang collaboraon between colleagues. The Group connues to priorise communicaon and flexibility for staff whilst we help them adapt to a combined physical and virtual environment. The Group also is increasing its focus on providing connuous professional development for the staff, and increasing opportunies to spend me with our user and customer base.

CURRENT TRADING AND OUTLOOK

Although the Group made good progress in developing some new partnerships, the overall commercial progress was behind the Board's inial expectaons in 2021, as a result of deals slipping from H2 2021 to 2022.

Over the last few months, the Group has launched its SmartChemistry plaorm and signed up new partnerships.

For example, since the year end, the Group entered into a mulyear licensing and collaboraon agreement with AI-driven drug discovery company Standigm. DeepMaer provides access to its proprietary data and algorithms via its SmartChemisty™ plaorm. This will enable Standigm to be more efficient and producve in its drug discovery programmes through deeper data insights and analysis.
