Confirms 1H 2009 Guidance After Successful Product Launches Drive
Global Customer Acquisition

Basel, Switzerland and Newport Beach, Calif. - May 5, 2009 - Day
Software (SIX: DAYN, OTCQX: DYIHY), a leading provider of content
management and content infrastructure software, today reconfirmed
guidance for financial results for 1H 2009 based on strong customer
growth in Q1 2009 from continued momentum for its ground-breaking CQ5
platform.

Day saw continued global traction for its new CQ5 platform, securing
major new competitive wins in its North American, European, and
Asia-Pacific operations. In North America, Day drove additional
penetration in the Automotive vertical with a global license with
General Motors (GM) Corporation to revamp its web presence and drive
showroom demand. In Asia-Pacific, Day replaced an incumbent vendor in
a competitive win in the Telecommunications sector with an enterprise
license at Starhub, Singapore's leading integrated telecoms, cable,
and Internet hosting firm. In Europe, Day built on its Q4 success in
the Retail vertical by adding France's online retail powerhouse,
LaRedoute, to its growing installed base of global eCommerce leaders.
In Day's core German and Swiss markets, Day drove major new
enterprise wins at pharmaceutical and consumer health care giant
Boehringer and drove continued growth in the Public Sector vertical
with the addition of the Canton of Bern to Day's sizeable installed
base of worldwide government entities.

"We are pleased to see that market interest in CQ5's open, modular
architecture and fun-of-use continues to accelerate customer traction
across all major sales regions," says Erik Hansen, CEO of Day
Software, "We are seeing customers investing in CQ5 to replace legacy
1st generation web solutions to power their new online initiatives.
CQ5 broke new grounds and fulfilled a long-standing promise of
integrated ECM and WCM. We see good opportunities to continue our
growth replacing legacy systems and driving further competitive wins,
and feel comfortable that we will perform well against our 1st half
financial planning despite the slowed down economy."

Day continued momentum around its Q4 2008 CQ5 WCM release with three
major product launches in Q1 2009. In January, Day announced the
availability of its standalone Content Repository Extreme (CRX) ECM
platform along with a new, limited license version of CRX, CRX One.
These new CRX offerings, targeted at CIO and IT developers, provide
the industry's most scalable Java Content Repository (JCR) based on
the Apache Jackrabbit and Apache Sling projects with support for
rapid application development, content repository virtualization and
consolidation, and deployment in either a public and private
computing cloud. In March, Day followed its CRX launch with new
offerings for Digital Asset Management (DAM) and Social Collaboration
(SoCo) targeted at Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) and interactive
marketers. Seamlessly integrated with Day's leading WCM application
and CRX ECM platform, these releases combined provide a unified suite
for marketing for brand promotion, targeted multi-channel campaigns,
and social media marketing. For global enterprises looking to lower
costs and more effectively sell and market online, Day's CRX platform
and Communique marketing suite meets the critical requirements of
both Marketing and IT as they re-examine legacy 1st generation web
solutions for their 2009 growth initiatives.

"Adding best-in-class DAM and Social Collaboration to our market
leading CQ5 WCM delivers the final services marketing needs to build
an online marketing and sales engine," concluded Hansen. "We look
forward to leveraging these two new offerings to further accelerate
our customer acquisition and competitive win rates throughout the
remainder of 2009."
