- Currys PC World unveils the top 24 tech gifts for Christmas, with voice controlled tech topping the charts
- It's a Merry Christmas for audiophiles too, thanks to new speakers and headphones
Currys PC World, the nation's largest electrical retailer, today reveals the top 24 tech gifts expected to take pride of place under the nation's Christmas trees in less than 12 weeks, with voice control taking the (Christmas) cake for this year's most in-demand technology.
More than half of the top 24 feature voice control, meaning Brits may spend more time talking to their new virtual assistants than to their relatives over the festive period. Meanwhile the new high-end speakers gracing the list mean the traditional Christmas carols - or Slade - will sound better than ever. Alternatively, thanks to advanced noise cancellation in the latest headphones, drowning out the debate on who's doing the washing up will become easier than ever.

'Voice assistants are exploding in popularity, with over one in three of us saying they've made life easier and even more of us set to discover their value this Christmas,' said Steve Ager, Currys PC World Chief Commercial Officer. 'We're predicting this festive season will be all about voice control - and with new high-end headphones and speakers making the list there might just be a little bit of singing too.'
Each of Currys PC World's top five gifts are voice enabled, with Alexa, the Google Assistant and Siri all represented. Out of the entire top ten, seven are ready to respond to verbal commands, including the newly announced Sonos One and the new Microsoft Xbox One X. Further down the list, laptops, speakers and headphones continue the voice control theme with everything from the HP Pavilion 14 to the brand-new Google Pixel 2 and Bose Revolve Plus voice ready.
Meanwhile, it's also set to be a bumper Christmas for audiophiles thanks to the new Bose QC35 II headphones and their enhanced noise cancellation, while the brand-new Beats Studio 3 headphones will also find their way under trees around the country.
The march of virtual and augmented reality also continues apace with the inclusion of the LENOVO Star Wars: Jedi Challenges Augmented Reality Headset, with those looking to take to the sky well served with the DJI Spark drone. Homebodies are also covered this festive season thanks to the Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine and the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, although venturing outside to work off some excess Christmas turkey can be a pleasure with the Fitbit Ionic smartwatch, for example.
All of Currys PC World's Christmas gifts are available online and in store across the country, with click and collect available across the range. Customers will also be able to spread the cost of Christmas with flexible credit from Your Plan.
