Cnova, Casino's e-commerce subsidiary, announced yesterday evening the departure of its CEO Emmanuel Grenier and his replacement by Thomas Métivier, an in-house executive.

This change follows the appointment of Emmanuel Grenier, 51, as Executive Director of e-commerce for the Casino Group, which will lead him to step down from both his position as CEO and Executive Director of Cnova as of January 16.

Subject to approval by the Group's shareholders at the next Annual General Meeting in March, Grenier will continue to sit on the Board of Directors as a non-executive director, and will also chair Cnova's Strategy Committee.

Thomas Métivier, 35, will replace Grenier as CEO of Cnova, effective January 16, and will also be appointed CEO of Cdiscount, the group's main brand.

Thomas Métivier has been CEO of Octopia, Cdiscount's BtoB business dedicated to the commercialization of marketplace solutions, for almost two years, a position he successfully launched.

In another governance change, Guillaume Michaloux - Director of Strategy and M&A for Casino in Latin America - has been appointed non-executive director, replacing Ronaldo Iabrudi dos Santos Pereira, who resigned yesterday.

Following these announcements, Cnova's share price fell by nearly 3.3% on Friday morning on the Paris Bourse, in a market up by around 0.5%.
