ClearVue Technologies Limited announced that it has won a tender to complete a measurement and verification study (M&V Study) with the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) of the Government of Hong Kong, Special Administrative Region (SAR) of the People's Republic of China. The paid M&V Study will involve the installation of five (5) ClearVuePV integrated glazing unit (IGU) panels (approximately 13.2 sqm of glazing) at the EMSD's own headquarters in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The Study will undertake a comprehensive assessment of the performance of the ClearVuePV solar glass to test the optical properties, energy harvesting and energy efficiency effectiveness of the ClearVuePV glazing.

The Study will involve the design, supply, delivery and installation of the ClearVue solar glazing which will be compared against existing adjacently installed conventional glazing. Outcomes from the Study will include comparative verified data sets for the ClearVuePV glazing and the existing conventional glazing. The EMSD provides electrical and mechanical services for the Hong Kong SAR through two functions - regulatory services and operational services - to promote social safety and enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Hong Kong.

Specific functions of the EMSD include, amongst many things, the assessment of building efficiency under the HK Building Energy Efficiency Ordinance. The EMSD issued the Study tender to explore solar glazing solutions for the Hong Kong SAR. Completion of the Study and its verified data will be used to confirm the value of the ClearVuePV glazing technology and products for use in various future government building deployments in the Hong Kong SAR.

EMSD endorsement is a prerequisite for government engagement in the SAR. The M&V Study itself is costing the EMSD HKD 383,000 (AUD 72,000) with the Study contract having officially commenced from 1 March 2023. This announcement follows the Company's recent newsletter published to the Company's website.

The LOI with the AZ Group sets the framework for initial establishment of a distribution arrangement for Cambodia and Laos. Where such an arrangement is deemed successful, then the parties to the LOI are to work towards a joint venture or full manufacturing and distribution licence.

Full details of the LOI and the arrangements with AZ Group can be found in the Company's newsletter available from its website. The significance of this announcement is that it represents the first sale into the Hong Kong SAR government market, and to the Hong Kong market generally.

Whilst the Company makes no comment on whether further Hong Kong government sales will be secured through completion of the paid-for Study the completion of the Study is expected to support this. The Company looks forward to updating the market on progress of the Hong Kong EMSD M&V Study, the BCA Skylab testing in Singapore and its progress with the AZ Group in Cambodia in the coming months.
