(Alliance News) - WANdisco PLC on Tuesday said it has signed an initial agreement with an industrial and consumer goods company for a one-off migration of manufacturing process and management data.

WANdisco is a California, US-based public software company which specialises in distributed computing. It runs a data activation platform for accelerating digital transformation at scale.

The company's agreement with an unnamed European-based goods company is worth USD9 million.

WANdisco said it was a one-off migration for manufacturing process and other enterprise information management data that resides in the client's data centres in Europe and Asia to be migrated to multiple cloud service providers.

"This is the first company to choose WANdisco's solutions to migrate manufacturing process data at scale, utilising our unique ability to seamlessly and securely migrate large scale data from on-premise platforms to the cloud," said Chief Executive Officer David Richards.

"Our unique solutions, the cloud agnostic nature of our technology and our proven experience in moving data seamlessly at scale make us well placed to continue winning market share and supporting global clients in these use cases."

WANdisco shares were trading 1.5% higher at 1,096.00 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
