Kuala Lumpur: CIMB-Principal Asset Management (CIMB-Principal) recently won the Asset Management Company of the Year, Malaysia from The Asset Triple A Investor and Fund Management Awards 2014. The award honors the country's most outstanding asset management company which has a comprehensive investment platform across different asset classes while servicing the needs of its institutional, corporate and retail clients with excellence.


Munirah Khairuddin, chief executive officer of CIMB-Principal accepted the award on behalf of the Company. Commenting on the award, Munirah said, "We would like to share our recognition with our clients for their continuing trust in us. CIMB-Principal also bagged the Best Asset Manager in Southeast Asia award in the 8th Annual Alpha Southeast Asia Best Financial Institution Awards for the fifth year in a row, reflecting the strengthening presence of its asset management business in the region beyond the borders of Malaysia. Having showcased favourable track record across all asset classes as well as institutional mandates, CIMB-Principal is fast on its way to becoming Southeast Asia's most valued investment manager offering total asset management solutions.

In addition to these awards, Munirah was also selected as one of the recipients for the "Top 25 Women of Asset Management" awards by the AsianInvestor. AsianInvestor has undertaken a research project to select the 25 most influential women in the asset management industry across Asia Pacific. The selection process was conducted by the publication's editorial staff with the consultation of senior industry practitioners. This year, aside from short listing candidates from the top decision-making level, AsianInvestor also focuses on women who were either managing money or running asset management businesses.

CIMB-Principal currently manages 57 funds in Malaysia with a total of RM46.58 billion in assets under management as at 30 June 2014.
