Neubiberg/Munich, August 25, 2016 - CHORUS Clean Energy AG ('CHORUS'), the specialists in solar and wind park operation based in Neubiberg near Munich, has taken over the operational management of two wind parks in Germany and Scotland belonging to Hamburg-based Lloyd Fonds AG. This development extends the presence of CHORUS in Europe and increases the nominal capacity of the portfolio under management to approximately 513 megawatts (MW) in total.

The Breberen wind park is located in North Rhine-Westphalia, close to the border between Germany and the Netherlands. This park consists of nine reliable Vestas V80 wind turbines with a total output of 18 MW. In 2015, the wind park produced about 40 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity. This saves around 24,000 tons of harmful CO2 and is equivalent to the power needs of more than 14,000 households.

The second wind park is located near the coast in Lairg in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. It contains three Nordex N80/2500 turbines. The wind park has been connected to the grid since 2011. Nordex has produced over 1,000 turbines of this type that have since gone live. In total, the park has a capacity of 7.5 MW.

As part of its asset management activities, CHORUS has taken over the operational management of both parks. The wind turbines were financed through closed-end funds launched by Lloyd Fonds AG in 2005 and 2011.

'We appreciate the trust placed in us by Lloyd Fonds AG in making this decision. It underscores the dynamic growth in our asset management division, where we offer institutional customers a wide range of services covering the entire value chain of renewable energy systems. The wind parks belonging to Lloyd Fonds AG and its investors are in the best hands with us,' says Holger Götze, CEO of CHORUS Clean Energy AG.
