The board of directors of China Machinery Engineering Corporation announced that the company entered into a contract with Kipeto Energy Limited in respect of the Kipeto Wind Farm project in Kenya on January 24, 2016. According to the Contract, the scope of the Project includes the construction of a wind power station with an installed capacity of 102 MW and a 220kV transmission line. The company, as the EPC general contractor, will be responsible for the design, supply, civil engineering and construction, installation, training, commissioning, technical services and other works of the Project on a turnkey basis.

The contract value amounts to $221 million. As stipulated in the Contract, the Project will commence for construction upon the satisfaction of certain conditions precedent. The construction period of the Project will last for approximately 22.5 months once the construction is commenced.
