Empresa de Energia del Pacifico S.A. E.S.P. (BVC:EPSA) signed a contract to acquire distribution assets and electricity commercialization business in Tolima from Compañía Energética del Tolima SAESP for COP 1.7 trillion on March 8, 2019. Empresa de Energia will carry out bridge loan operations with local and international financial entities to comply with the transaction. E.S.P. (BVC:EPSA) and Camilo Martínez Beltrán, Juan Manuel de la Rosa, Sergio Londoño González and Juan Carlos Gambín of DLA Piper Martínez Beltrán acted as a legal advisor to Compañía Energética del Tolima S.A. E.S.P. Compañía Energética del Tolima S.A. E.S.P. completed the acquisition of distribution assets and electricity commercialization business in Tolima from Compañía Energética del Tolima S.A. E.S.P. on June 3, 2019. In order to fund the operation, Epsa stated that it had received credit of $190 million (COP 0.6 trillion) from international financial entities, and COP 0.2 trillion from national banks. It also raised COP 1.1 trillion through a bond issuance. Epsa expects its financial results to improve following the deal, with consolidated EBITDA estimated to rise by COP 198 billion.
