Cavotec is excited to announce the inauguration of our MoorMaster automated vacuum mooring system today at DP World San Antonio, the largest multipurpose port in Chile. This significant milestone marks the first implementation of an automated mooring system in South America, setting a new standard for port technology in the region.

The inauguration starts at 11:00 am local time (05:00 pm CEST) and will be attended by Juan Carlos Muñoz, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications in Chile, Curtis Doiron, CEO of DP World Chile, and David Pagels, Cavotec CEO.

The installation of a MoorMaster NxG system at DP World San Antonio represents a significant advancement in port operations. Cavotec’s state-of-the-art technology helps the port enhance employee safety and increase ship-to-shore crane productivity by reducing vessel motion. Furthermore, the increased crane productivity together with faster mooring will shorten vessel turnaround times, thereby reducing vessel fuel consumption and emissions.

DP World San Antonio is the first container terminal in the Americas to adopt automated mooring technology, showcasing the port's commitment to pioneering solutions and sustainable operations. This project underscores Cavotec’s dedication to transforming the ports and maritime industries by providing innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of our clients.

“We are proud to be the first port in the Americas and the first in DP World to adopt this cutting-edge vessel mooring technology. MoorMaster, developed by our partner Cavotec, will enhance employee safety and bring significant improvements to our day-to-day operations. It is a solution that contributes positively to our environment, aligning with our collaborative mission to reduce C02 emissions across the logistics industry. We are leading the way in the region to a more sustainable future for the supply chain, changing what’s possible for everyone,” said Curtis Doiron, Chief Executive Officer of DP World Chile.

David Pagels, Chief Executive Officer of Cavotec, added: “The inauguration of the MoorMaster system at DP World San Antonio is a landmark achievement for both Cavotec and the entire maritime industry in South America. This project demonstrates our commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that improve operational efficiency and environmental performance. We are honored to partner with DP World in this endeavor and look forward to continuing our work together to drive the future of port technology.”
