CASwell, Inc. announced the release of next generation quad-port 10GbE Small Form Factor Pluggable, w/o bypass, fiber network card, NIP-53040. The NIP-53040 is built with the 10 Gigabit Ethernet fiber connectors, and the Intel® 82599ES Ethernet LAN controller with two fully integrated Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Control and SFI ports. In addition to managing MAC and PHY Ethernet layer functions, the controller manages PCI Express packet traffic across its transaction, link and physical/logical layers.

Using hardware acceleration, the controller offloads tasks from the host, such as TCP/UDP/IP checksum calculations and TCP segmentation. These features combined make CASwell's NIP-53040 a practical network module with great value and high performance. The NIP-53040 quad-port 10GbE fiber network module is compatible with all CASwell's 1U and 2U network appliances.

Utilizing a special hardware design, the NIP-53040 can be installed very easily into CASwell's appliances.
