GRESB is the leading global benchmark in assessing the ESG performance of listed companies.

The GRESB methodology awards an overall score to companies based on their performance in the Management and Performance categories. Castellana Properties once again achieved an outstanding Management score, attaining 28 out of a possible 30 points, and seeing a major improvement in its Performance score compared to last year, registering 58 out of a total of 70 points. This result is thanks to the concerted effort the company has made to continue monitoring, assessing and introducing new measures designed to improve its ESG management and performance.

Looking at the breakdown of the company's ESG performance, Castellana Properties obtained outstanding scores in the Social (S) and Governance (G) components, scoring 18 out of 18 and 18 out of 20 respectively, outstripping the averages for the real estate sector in both categories. This year, the Company also stands out in the Environmental component of the index, exceeding the average score of its peer group with a score of 50 out of 62.

More specifically, the company was awarded high scores in aspects such as Leadership, Policies, Reporting, Commitment, Risk Assessment, Objectives, Community, Data Monitoring and Certifications. This achievement serves as recognition for the hard work and dedication that the Company has put in over the past year to improve its transparency and management of ESG-related matters.

Additionally, Castellana Properties has a sustainability strategy in place that sets out very clear objectives for the short, medium and long term. The Company has already achieved some of these objectives, such as obtaining BREEAM certification - the standard that accredits the sustainability of buildings - for all its shopping centres, and publishing its second ESG Report, following which it also obtained recognition from EPRA (European Public Real Estate Association) receiving the EPRA Gold award in BRP and sBPR for its transparency in financial and ESG reporting.

According to Alfonso Brunet, CEO of Castellana Properties "at Castellana Properties, we are continually working to deepen our commitment across all ESG-related matters, and this can be seen from our unwavering resolve to identify new opportunities that have the potential to generate a positive impact in all the regions where we operate. We are particularly proud to have obtained such a good GRESB score in what is only our second year participating in this index. This is a major achievement particularly given the fact that GRESB is a leading global standard that is widely renowned for the meticulous assessment criteria it uses to evaluate the ESG performance of companies. Our continued improvement in all areas relating to sustainability is testament to our dedication and steadfast commitment to CSR and sustainable development".
