Ben Franklin Financial, Inc. is a holding company of Ben Franklin Bank of Illinois (the Bank). The Bank is a federally-chartered savings bank, which is its subsidiary. The Bank's business consists of attracting retail deposits from the general public and investing those deposits, together with funds generated from operations and borrowings, in one- to four-family residential mortgage loans, commercial real estate loans, multi-family real estate loans, home equity lines of credit, commercial business loans, construction loans and consumer loans. The Bank invests in the United States Government sponsored entity mortgage-backed securities and other securities issued by the United States Government sponsored entities. Its revenues are derived primarily from the interest on loans and securities, fees for loan origination services, loan fees and fees levied on deposit accounts. The Company's primary sources of funds are deposits, and principal and interest payments on loans and securities.
