On 1 November 2011 Marco Strimer will take over the management of the Operations business unit at Bank Sarasin & Co. Ltd. Marco Strimer's most recent post was as CEO of SIX x-clear AG. He succeeds Julius Zuercher, who will be retiring at the end of 2011 after 44 years in the banking industry, 12 of them with Bank Sarasin.

Headed by Peter Sami, the Logistics division looks after all of Bank Sarasin's internal support functions in the areas of IT, Operations and Facility Management. The Operations business unit is responsible for the timely processing and settlement of stock exchange, securities, payment and treasury transactions concluded by Bank Sarasin.

Marco Strimer

Born 1961; Swiss citizen, lives in Zurich. After completing his commercial training he attended further education at the Swiss Banking Institute and the Darden School of Business Administration (University of Virginia).

Marco Strimer began his career with Union Bank of Switzerland in Zurich, where he worked in the Securities department in Zurich and then as Operations Manager in Private Banking in London. He then switched to Intersettle Swiss Corporation for International Securities Settlements in Zurich – initially as the head of Customer Service and then as Head of Quality Assurance.

He then joined the management of SIS Segainstersettle AG as Head of Customer and Custodian Relations. During the last six years, Marco Strimer was CEO of SIX x-clear AG, a member of the SIX Group, which provides comprehensive securities and clearing services to Swiss and international market players.
