Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that Pascal Fernandez, vice president of Avnet Velocity, EMEA, will present a case study on collaborative supply chains at the 9th Annual Advancing S&OP to Integrated Business Planning Conference. The event takes place February 3-5, 2014, at the Radisson Blue Hotel Amsterdam in The Netherlands.

During his session, "Supply Chain Collaboration Maturity - What Difference Does it Make?" Fernandez will discuss the seven stages of collaboration maturity, how to make collaboration work at a strategic level, and the importance of integrated business planning to risk management. He also will focus on how to practically enhance and improve collaborative practices to benefit all supply chain partners.

"The true value of collaboration comes from developing mutually beneficial relationships throughout the supply chain," said Fernandez. "Throughout the seven stages of supply chain collaboration, there are different levels of benefits gained for the entire supply chain. However, as supply chains continue to expand across multiple partners and geographies, end-to-end collaboration helps to mitigate risk and increase the value of the supply chain as a whole."

Fernandez is the vice president of Avnet Velocity, EMEA, a global supply chain solutions division of Avnet, where he is responsible for business development. Having started his career in electronics engineering, Fernandez has held multiple positions in sales and marketing management within the electronics industry and has implemented numerous successful global supply chain and logistics programs. Based in Paris, he is also vice president of the SPDEI, the French Electronics Distribution Trade Association and a member of the Supply Chain Council European Leadership team French National, based in the Avnet Paris office.

The Advancing S&OP to Integrated Business Planning conference offers industry professionals the skills and insights necessary to improve profitability, long term business planning and process efficiency by maturing advanced S&OP processes. Attendees will discuss case studies on cultural change, collaboration techniques, niche forecasting, supply and demand methodologies, and risk management strategies.
