PARIS, France--Global technology provider Arrow Electronics today announced a new distribution agreement with VAST Data, a fast-growing next-generation storage software infrastructure company. Arrow will help accelerate adoption of VAST Data's high-performance Universal Storage platform by broadening reach with key channel partners and markets across Europe.
Launched in 2019, VAST Data's Universal Storage platform marries innovative software algorithms with new hardware and networking technologies. As IT administrators look to modernize their enterprise data centers with infrastructure that delivers new data insights in artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics, as well as provide fast data protection in the event of a disaster or ransomware attack, VAST Data provides customers with a comprehensive solution to help meet all their data needs.
VAST Data works with key companies across the enterprise ecosystem to deliver a high-performance data infrastructure. VAST's disaggregated and shared everything architecture allows customers to scale compute and storage resources independently. VAST Data's Universal Storage ships as a production-ready, integrated appliance.
Channel customers can purchase Universal Storage through Gemini, VAST Data's storage business model that redefines the storage buying experience. Gemini is a software offering, delivered to customers as a simple managed service on pre-defined hardware. It provides the flexibility for customers to refresh hardware on their own timetable without the need to repurchase software, enabling customers to license as little as 100TB and scale as needed.
"As more businesses explore new ways to address the growing needs of AI and big data analytics or to rethink their data protection strategies, it is important that their storage infrastructure can deliver the intensive performance needed to extract value from their data. With VAST Data, customers can realize the benefits of an all-flash data center without the usual cost barriers," said Alexis Brabant, vice president of sales for Arrow's enterprise computing solutions business in Europe. "VAST Data has brought something new to the market, and we're pleased to be working with them in Europe to help them to further scale their business."
"When we started VAST Data, it was with the mission to simplify the data center. We wanted to democratize data and make an all-flash solution available to all businesses," said Kate Goodwin, director of channel for EMEA and Asia Pacific at VAST Data. "Over the last two years, we've grown very quickly, quadrupling our sales in the last 12 months. We're looking forward to working with Arrow in Europe to enable the success of an even larger number of trusted channel partners as they introduce Universal Storage to their customers."
