Arabian Centres Company announced partial fire at Mall of Dhahran, located in Dhahran Governorate in the Eastern Province, on the morning of 13 May 2022. The fire broke out during the early hours of the morning and before the official opening timing of the mall. It was brought under control and without any casualties.

The company extends special due to the governorate-s Civil Defense emergency unit for their quick and professional intervention, which contributed to the complete control of the fire, as well as many due to all the other respective authorities for their valuable support. According to an initial survey of the site field, the fire has affected a limited portion of the mall-s expansion area located at the western side, which was opened in 2008, where those affected areas form less than 10% of the Mall-s GLA. The company is awaiting the detailed accident report, which will be issued by the Civil Defense.

The company expects to reopen the mall within the few coming weeks, due to the limited impact of the fire. The company will assess the financial impact of the incident after completing the field survey, with initial expectation that the financial impact on its financial statements will not exceed SAR 25 million, taking into consideration the insurance coverage policy, with the claim procedure already underway. It is worth noting that the insurance coverage for this centre, and for all the other 20 commercial centres, is comprehensive.

It covers the entire facilities of the malls and any loss of revenue resulting from the suspension of its operational activities as a result of such accidents.
