ASX RELEASE 1 February 2013

West Pilbara Iron Ore Project State Environm ental Approval Received for Anketell Port

Aquila Resources Limited (ASX:AQA "the Company" or "Aquila") is pleased to announce that the State Minister for Environment has issued the environmental approval for the development of Anketell Port, in which the Company holds a 50% interest. Combined with the environmental approval granted for the mine and rail elements of the West Pilbara Iron Ore Project in December 2011, this completes the State primary environmental approval requirements.
The Western Australian Office of the Appeals Convenor has advised that, consistent with section
45(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1986, the Minister for Environment had consulted with other decision making authorities and agreed that the West Pilbara Iron Ore Project's Anketell Port development proposal may be implemented, subject to certain conditions and procedures. The proposal was developed in close consultation with the State government and the approval provides for the staged expansion of the multi-user, deepwater port to a nominal iron ore export capacity of
350Mtpa, subject to other non-environmental approvals. The Company believes that the conditions of the Anketell Port environmental approval compare favourably with other major recent port approvals in Western Australia.

The Company will keep the market informed of further Project developments.
