Ryan & Maniskas, LLP (www.rmclasslaw.com/cases/acli) is investigating potential claims against the board of directors of American Commercial Lines Inc. ("ACLI" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: ACLI) concerning possible breaches of fiduciary duty and other violations of law related to the Company's efforts to sell ACLI to an affiliate of Platinum Equity in a transaction with a value of approximately $777 million.

Our investigation concerns possible breaches of fiduciary duty and other violations of law related to approval of the transaction by Company's board of directors; in particular, whether the Company undertook a fair process to obtain fair consideration for all shareholders of AGA Medical. Under the proposed agreement, ACLI stockholders, other than GVI Holdings, Inc. and certain of its affiliates (?GVI?), will receive $33.00 in cash for each share of ACLI common stock they hold. GVI will receive $31.25 in cash for each share of ACLI common stock it holds if the transaction closes before December 31, 2010 and $33.00 per share thereafter. GVI owns approximately 25.26% of ACLI's outstanding common stock and has entered into a Voting Agreement to support the transaction.
