CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Jan. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Interstate Power and Light Company (IPL), a subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corporation (NYSE: LNT), issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking firm long-term supplies of non-intermittent capacity and energy delivered to IPL's electric service area.

IPL projects an electric capacity need of approximately 550 megawatts by June 1, 2016. The RFP solicits ownership and/or long-term Purchased Power Agreement (PPA) proposals for new or existing resources, or access to a portion of the output of a system of resources, to supply all or a portion of its long-term electric capacity and energy needs. Electronic proposals are due by March 22, 2012.
