Doha, Qatar - February, 2016 - Al Khaliji Commercial Bank (al khaliji) Q.S.C has partnered with Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) to host Tajer, a financial markets literacy and education workshop for secondary school students. The initiative comes in the framework of the bank's recruitment program and its continuous efforts to empower Qatari youth as well as develop their skills, to lead the country's financial industry in the future.

The day-long workshop, held earlier this month, offered students a comprehensive understanding and in-depth insights about financial markets in Qatar. Through its intensive educational training, which combines case studies with on-the-ground applications, the workshop offers a mechanism that enables attendees to gain valuable knowledge and information about floor trading systems around the world, as well as introducing them to electronic markets by connecting them to cross-border networks.

The workshop also allows students to be updated on the constant changes occurring on a daily basis in financial markets' pricing and trading processes, as well as providing them with an opportunity to discover a number of Carnegie Mellon's Business Administration programs, in addition to offering them facetime with faculty members and decision makers in the financial industry.

This workshop marks one of many joint efforts between al khaliji bank and CMU-Q to empower students and provide them with everything they need in terms of knowledge and skill sets, to facilitate their transition from academic to professional life. In November 2015, the bank hosted a workshop on Qatar's banking and finance sector at CMU-Q, in the presence of Mr. Fahad Al Khalifa, al khaliji's Group CEO. The workshop served as an ideal platform for students to learn about future employment opportunities and career prospects at al khaliji.

In its continuous drive to empower Qatari talents as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, al khaliji, the next generation bank, pours its efforts into national talent development both within its group and the community as a whole.
