African Medical Investments plc (‘African Medical’ or ‘the Company’) Completion of Equity Subscription

African Medical Investments plc, the AIM listed company operating in the African healthcare sector, announces that further to its announcement of 5 July 2011, it will complete its US$2 million fundraising by the issue of 61,707,130 new ordinary shares (‘the Subscription Shares’) on 28 September 2011.

Application has been made for the Subscription Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM with effect from 28 September 2011 and on admission the Subscription Shares, which will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary shares of the Company, will be issued to Matibabu Holdings Limited, a company in which the Company’s CEO, Peter Botha, is interested through a discretionary trust, the beneficiaries of which include Mr. Botha and members of his family.

Following admission of the Subscription Shares to trading on AIM, the total number of ordinary shares in issue is will be 322,233,871. Following admission Mr. Botha will be interested in 19.1% of the Company’s total issued share capital and consequently Harbinger Capital Partners Master Fund I, Ltd.’s interest in the Company will be reduced to 43.6% of the Company’s total issued share capital.
