Aberdeen Standard Asia Focus PLC (LSE:AAS) commences share repurchases on December 17, 2020, under the program mandated by the shareholders in the Annual General Meeting held on December 1, 2020. As per the mandate, the company is authorized to repurchase up to 14.99% of its issued share capital. The minimum price which may be paid for each ordinary share will not be less than £0.25, the nominal value of each ordinary share and the maximum price which may be paid for each ordinary share will not be more than the higher of 5% above the average of the middle market quotations for an ordinary share on the London Stock Exchange Daily Official List for the five business days immediately preceding the date of purchase and the higher of the last independent trade and the highest current independent bid on the London Stock Exchange. The shares purchased may either be cancelled or held as treasury shares. This program will expire at the conclusion of the next Annual General Meeting, unless such authority is renewed, revoked or varied prior to such time by the company in general meeting. As of July 31, 2020, the company had 32,32,442,209 ordinary shares in issue and 9,293,918 shares in treasury.
