his father in the airstrike on a Gaza school

:: "I was wounded at the school. The school does not have anyone who is wanted. There are no armed people in it. I was sitting next to my father, may God have mercy on him, then (suddenly) I felt something on my head. Lots of blocks (rubble) fell on my legs. Then I fell unconscious. All the blocks (rubble) fell on my father's head. My father was martyred. This happened at four in the morning. I am still suffering from my leg. They stitched me - something like 10 stitches."

al-Maqadmeh lay on the floor of Deir al-Balah's al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, south of Nuseirat, his face badly bruised and bleeding.
Israel hit the Gaza school on Thursday with what it described as a targeted airstrike on up to 30 Hamas fighters inside, and a Hamas official said 40 people including women and children were killed as they sheltered in the U.N. site.
The school, run by the U.N. Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA), was sheltering 6,000 displaced people at the time, UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini said.
