"It was tragic. I had high hopes that Biden would make a good showing, and I support Biden. And now I don't know what to think."

:: Washington, D.C.

"I think that former President Trump did a great job of responding and not reacting to the questions that were being asked and to President Biden's responses.

"I'm really worried." // "And I think at this point, if Biden wants to do the right thing, he either needs to make a 180 or he needs to do what I think a lot of people are wanting him to do and bow out."

:: New York

"Like, it was high school. It was like throwing jabs at each other. We're not here for that."

"Um, with all due respect, it was hard to understand the president... and the other guy was just rambling off."

In Washington, Tricia Putnam praised former President Donald Trump's performance, while in New York, Mariah Hall compared the contenders' performance to behaving as though they were in high school.

On Friday, Biden's allies scrambled to contain the damage from a feeble debate performance with Trump that prompted some of his fellow Democrats to wonder whether they could replace him as their candidate for the November U.S. election.
