Vanguard Energy Corporation (BB: VNGE) engages in the acquisition, development, and operation of onshore oil and gas properties in the United States.

The company minimizes risk by targeting lower-risk developmental wells close to existing, proven oil production. VNGE is focusing its attention on the hydrocarbon rich area of onshore east Texas. The first well that the company drilled began production in January 2011. As of May 10, 2011, VNGE has drilled and completed its first four oil wells and has identified drilling sites for ten additional wells. As of April 30, 2011, these wells were collectively producing approximately 120 barrels per day of oil. The company plans to drill and, if warranted, complete approximately 8 oil wells, to be drilled within a 3 month period.

In December 2010, Vanguard acquired two producing and three shut-in oil wells in the Batson Dome Field. As of March 31, 2011, the two wells were producing approximately three barrels of oil per day. The three shut-ins will need to be reworked before they can be returned to production.
