Billingsley to Deliver Keynote Address for USPOULTRY Foundation College Student Career Program at 2018 IPPE

TUCKER, Ga. - Jan. 25, 2018 - Bob "Pic" Billingsley, director of development and engineering for Sanderson Farms, will be the keynote speaker at the USPOULTRY Foundation College Student Career Program opening session that will be held in conjunction with the International Poultry Expo, part of the 2018 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE). Billingsley's presentation, "Navigating from Academics to Industry," will encourage and challenge students to work industriously toward attaining their career goals once they have transitioned from academics to the work environment.

"Pic is an industry leader for one of the largest protein producers in the world. We are excited about his participation in the program and know that his experience will extend to the students as they listen and learn from him," said Doug Ramsey, president of Poultry Operations, Tyson Foods, USPOULTRY board member and vice chairman of the USPOULTRY College Student Career Program advisory committee.

The USPOULTRY Foundation College Student Career Program gives companies an opportunity to interview top students for industry-related jobs and internships in one location, during a three-day period. The Program involves students from national universities and has been an important part of the hiring process for many companies for nearly 50 years. The Foundation also sponsors the International Student Program, bringing Latin American students to IPPE each year where they are treated to a specialized program designed especially for them, in addition to being able to visit the exhibit floor to see the most current technology used in the poultry, meat and feed industries. These students will have the opportunity to visit with employers who have poultry operations throughout the world, including Latin America and Mexico.

Additionally, for the first time this year, approximately two dozen National Officer Candidates from FFA will participate in the program at the invitation of the Foundation. The college freshmen and sophomores will be able to fully participate in the College Student Career Program.

The IPPE, the world's largest annual poultry, feed and meat industry trade show, will be held Jan. 30 - Feb. 1, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga., and the USPOULTRY Foundation College Student Career Program will also be held on those same dates.
