A decisive week for Brexit. With the British Parliament's decisive vote on the Brexit agreement taking place tomorrow, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) has just announced that the United Kingdom is free to unilaterally revoke the notification of its intention to withdraw from the European Union, in accordance with the opinion of its Advocate General.

John Kelly on the out. The American President announced Saturday the departure of White House chief of staff John Kelly at the end of the year as part of the renewal of his team for the 2020 presidential campaign. Donald Trump had been suggesting for several weeks that he was not entirely satisfied with his work. Media reports revealed that the two men had not spoken for several days, while the chief of staff role is to be the president's right-hand man. We will know the name of his replacement in the next few days. Nick Ayers (a senior White House official), who was a potential successor, announced his resignation.


New talk of impeachment. Top House Democrats have renewed prospects of impeachment for President Donald Trump if it’s proved that he directed illegal hush-money payments to women. "My takeaway is there's a very real prospect that on the day Donald Trump leaves office the Justice Department may indict him, that he may be the first President in quite some time to face the real prospect of jail time," Schiff, the likely incoming chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told CBS.

In other news. On Friday, Moody's confirmed Switzerland's triple-A rating and its "stable" outlook. French government yields are increasing (OAT 10 years at 0.69%) in the face of political tensions and Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to speak tonight at 8pm from the Elysée Palace. The IMF said that US growth will decline more in 2020 than in 2019, due to the global economic slowdown, but that the risks of recession are averted.
