Symphony Teleca Corporation (STC), a global innovation and development services company, today announced the formation of SIX Studios, the Symphony Innovation eXperience group, in response to increasing customer demand for innovation. Serving as the design-catalyst, SIX Studios will leverage STC's deep knowledge in a variety of technologies, platforms and vertical markets to help clients create iconic products that deliver rich experiences through devices, software and services. The launch of this team comes on the heels of completing several innovative client engagements, including the recent collaboration with Itron on the Itron Insights smart energy app. As part of STC's exhibition at the upcoming 2014 International CES, January 7 - 10, Las Vegas, SIX Studios will showcase its work in mobile and HMI (Human Machine Interface) design for automotive and healthcare sectors.

As brands continue looking to connect with their key audiences in new ways via connected devices, personal electronics and automobiles, design has quickly risen as a critical aspect to innovation. Instead of just addressing the technology and business issues inherent in a multichannel strategy, SIX Studios seeks to augment it with a rich, branded experience that strikes the right emotional and intellectual balance for end users who are at the center of SIX Studios' insights-led, results-driven innovation process.

"Good design is to find a solution to a problem. Great design, however, is about finding the simplest solution to any given problem. A dynamic shift is happening in the market today, where companies are pouring more investment in great design. At SIX Studios, we have designers, business strategists, engineers and architects collaborating on big customer problems to offer elegant solutions," said Pradeep U.N., Vice President, Design and Innovation, Symphony Teleca. "As a result, clients are increasingly turning to us as their innovation engine, not only to disrupt, but also to build enterprise-ready solutions that integrate with their existing systems, enabling a positive impact to the bottom line. SIX Studios provides a center of excellence to augment STC's existing strengths."

"Since our engagement with Symphony Teleca a year ago, we have found that SIX Studios understands our needs for not only sleek design, but also business relevance. This team sees beyond the initial whiteboard to how their designs will function in the real world," said Vlad Martynov, CEO, Yota Devices. "The YotaPhone is changing how consumers interact and manage information with their smartphones and its two-sided design is vital to its success. With that design came complex engineering challenges, which Symphony Teleca took into consideration from the very beginning. We look forward to continuing to work with the SIX Studios team to bring next-generation solutions to market."

SIX Studios leverages a six-step predictable innovation process to research, design and develop innovative products and services for the automotive, mobile, media, energy, healthcare and retail markets. The global team of more than 150 employees consists of cross-discipline experts in business strategy, engineering and product design, who contribute at all phases of the innovation lifecycle and the creative process.
