Over the first eleven months of 2012, on average, 496,2 thous. persons were employed in industry (450,2 thous. in manufacturing), 165,7 thous. in construction, 151,7 thous. in retail trade, 140,3 thous. in selected market services, 109,9 thous. in transportation and storage, 94,1 thous. in wholesale, 40 thous. in information and communication, 28,9 thous. in food and beverage service activities, 20 thous. in sale and repair of motor vehicles and 9,6 thous. in accommodation.

It increased relatively most in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 6,2 %, in wholesale by 4,2 % and in accommodation by 3,8 %. It decreased only in information and communication by 3,1 %, in construction by 1,8 %, in selected market services by 1,4 % and in retail trade by 0,2 %.
In November 2012, the average real monthly wage increased, year-on-year, in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 2,7 %, in the wholesale by 0,8 %, in accommodation by 0,4 % and in industry by 0,1%. It decreased in the rest of the surveyed sectors with the sharpest relative decline in information and communication by 6,3 % and in construction by 5 %.
Over the first eleven months of 2012, on average, the highest average nominal monthly wage was EUR 1 706 in information and communication. The wage amounted to EUR 850 in industry, EUR 809 in selected market services, EUR 759 in wholesale, EUR 748 in sale and repair of motor vehicles, EUR 733 in transportation and storage, EUR 599 in construction, EUR 568 in accommodation, EUR 560 in retail trade, EUR 361 in food and beverage service activities.
Compared with the corresponding period of 2011, the wage increased in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 4,2 %, in industry by 3,8 %, in wholesale and accommodation equally by 3,1 %, in transportation and storage by 2,8 %, in retail trade by 1,6 %, in food and beverage service activities by 1,1 %, in construction by 0,2 % and in selected market services by 0,1 %. It dropped only in information and communication by 0,5 %.
The real monthly wage increased, year-on-year, only in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 0,5 % and in industry by 0,1 %. It decreased in information and communication by 4,1 %, in selected market services by 3,5 %, in construction by 3,4 %, in food and beverage service activities by 2,5 %, in retail trade by 2 %, in transportation and storage by 0,9 %, in wholesale and in accommodation equally by 0,6 %.
