The value of external trade in goods in November 2019 higher than in November 2018

Exports in November 2019 were higher than in November 2018 by 4.0% and amounted to EUR 2,936.3 million, while imports were higher by 0.4% and amounted to EUR 2,848.2 million. The values of both exports and imports in November 2019 were also higher than the average values of monthly exports and imports in 2018 (exports by 14.2%, imports by 11.3%).

In November 2019 Slovenia generated the sixth mothly surplus in external trade in goods of the year; this time it amounted to EUR 88.1 million. The export/import ratio in November 2019 was 103.1%.

Compared to November 2018 the value of trade with EU Member States in November 2019 decreased, while the value of trade with EU non-member countries increased

Exports to EU Member States amounted to EUR 2,079.6 million, which is 3.6% less than in November 2018. Imports form these countries amounted to EUR 2,054.5 million, which is 6.6% less than in November 2018. In the first eleven months of 2019 combined, however, the value of trade with EU Member States was higher than in the same period of 2018; exports by 3.8%, imports by 3.2%.

Trade with EU non-member countries continued to grow in November 2019. Exports to this group of countries amounted to EUR 856.7 million or 28.7% more than in November 2018. Imports from there amounted to EUR 793.7 million or 24.5% more than in November 2018. In the first eleven months of 2019 combined the growth rates of exports and imports to EU non-member countries were 26.1% and 37.7%, respectively.

In the period from January to November 2019 the value of Slovenia's exports was EUR 31,124.3 million, while the value of imports was EUR 31,276.5 million. Compared to the same period of the previous year, exports grew by 8.8% and imports by 10.6%.

In the first eleven months of 2019 combined a deficit of EUR 152.2 million was generated in external trade in goods. The export/import ratio was 99.5%.
