10 years LTI-free for Petrofac Kittiwake Contract 06/01/2014 Sparrows' Petrofac contract for work aboard the Kittiwake platform has added another year to its safety record and achieved the milestone of ten consecutive years without a lost time incident (LTI).

In fact, there have been no recorded Sparrows LTI's on the Kittiwake since the contract commenced on 19th November 2003.

This achievement is testament to the outstanding professionalism and commitment to safety which all of the company's offshore and onshore personnel work toward.

Adding another LTI-free year was a team accomplishment, states deputy business manager, Pietro Fong.

Everyone contributed to the continued success of this safety record. Every day brings new challenges and without a consistent team approach to following the key safety rules, delivering best practice and staying alert to dangers, this safety record would not have been possible.

I am very proud of the Sparrows team on Kittiwake for their hard work and dedication in achieving this milestone. A coherent approach to following the rules and intervening if anything looks unsafe will not only continue our record, but most importantly keep everyone safe and I look forward to sustaining this excellent performance going forward.

Alex Wilson, operations manager for the Kittiwake, said he wanted to take the opportunity to extend his congratulations and thanks to Sparrows' Kittiwake support team, both on and offshore, for their contribution to safe operations over the past ten years.

He added: The safe planning and execution of project and maintenance activities on our cranes, in addition to daily crane operations, contributes enormously to supporting both the routine and uncommon tasks on the Kittiwake asset. Your continued diligence and relentless attention to safe operations will contribute to the ongoing safety of our personnel.

In all, there has been no LTI aboard the Kittiwake for eight years.

Alan Richardson, Offshore Installation Manager for the Greater Kittiwake Area, said: Deck Operations are one of the most hazardous areas of offshore activities. Sparrows have played an integral role in ensuring our achievement of eight years LTI free on Kittiwake. We look forward to continued support in this and with their assistance another safe year for 2014.
