NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jan 8, 2014) - Send Word Now, the leading worldwide provider of emergency notification and critical communications services, announced today that BDO USA, LLP has issued a clean Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements ("SSAE") No. 16 SOC I Type II report applicable to the company's Alerting Service, Incident Management Service and other related complementary services.

SSAE 16 is the professional service organization standard put forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("AICPA"). The SSAE 16 standard effectively replaced the SAS 70 auditing standard, which was used for over 20 years.

The rigid SSAE 16 SOC I Type II attestation confirms Send Word Now's continued compliance with control objectives for a wide variety of functional areas, including customer support, application development, network security, physical security and system backup and recovery.

"We are pleased that our auditors have again issued a clean SSAE 16 opinion," said Lorin Bristow for Send Word Now. "This attestation gives our customers ongoing assurance that Send Word Now holds its business processes surrounding security, resilience and other critical areas to the highest of standards."

Send Word Now first completed the SSAE 16 audit process in 2011. Prior to this, the company completed its first SAS 70 audit (a predecessor to SSAE 16) in 2009.
