Students and teachers at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Cheyenne will celebrate school choice with cake and punch, dancing, prayer, and song.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26. Speakers include Dcn. Vernon Doblemann, superintendent of the Cheyenne Diocese, Jillian McGarvin-Balow, Wyoming superintendent of public instruction, and Troy Thompson, Laramie County commissioner.

This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2018, which will feature more than 32,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

“Wyoming deeply believes in the value of education, and that is why many Wyoming citizens support parents being able to choose a school for their children to attend,” said Patrick Lane, principal of St. Mary’s. “It is a great honor for St. Mary’s Catholic School to host the celebration of National School Choice Week.”

St. Mary’s is located at 2200 O’Neill Ave. in Cheyenne, and the rally will take place in the gymnasium. While the event is not open to the public, registered members of the media are welcome.
